So randomly while I’ve been sick this past week and a half I’ve been playing online figuring out all kinds things I want to make to help decorate my new house.  All the sudden tonight I had this vague recollection of a trunk/footlocker I remember my mom having while I was growing up.  Now I haven’t seen the thing in years so I’m assuming it’s probably gone by now.  But it got me to looking online to locate one and I kind of have the strange desire to make one.  Now obviously it’s not going to be leatherbound, etc. like alot of the antique ones, but I have to wonder how hard it would truly be to make one?  Obviously I could decorate it to look antique once I create it, but I think it would be pretty fun.  Anyone have any suggestions on ways to go about this?

Also on my craft list:

-Bookshelf

-Necklaces

-Earrings

-Turning a tealight stand into a decorative mirror hanging

I need those some kind of bad!

Yes those are lights on their shoe. If I had those I would not trip so much on the uneven roads in Richmond.

Now that I’ve finally tracked down the musical notation for my tribute tattoo to my grandfather I can get it sketched up and started.  By far will be the most meaningful tattoo I’ll ever get

At times….

At times life stops being about the hard times, and the good times, but more about the people that have been there in the in between times.

At times life isn’t about the bad moments or the good moments, but the moments that you can’t forget.

At times life isn’t about the ones who hurt you, or the ones you love, but the ones who help you grow as a person.

The rest of the time life is about making the most of the precious moments you have each day and living it to the fullest.

I want flowers. Just because it’s Wednesday. Sounds odd I know but think about it.  How often do men give women flowers just because? Maybe I’m cynic in the whole thing because I’ve only had a guy buy me flowers once but still.  I want a guy that would buy them just because he was thinking about me. Honestly, I want a guy who will just show in some small way he’s thinking about me at random points in the dating process.  Somewhere along the line chivalry has died, not just because of men, but also because of women.  At some point we started settling for less then what we deserve.  So from here on out I’m done settling.  I’d rather be happy and single then settle for someone who is less then what I deserve!

I would love to recreate this photo. Minus the black hair….

I would love to recreate this photo. Minus the black hair….

It’s been a while…

So today I realized it’s been quite some time since I’ve written.  And most of my things are non-sensical anyways.  But what the hell, maybe I can find something interesting going on in this head of mine at this hour….

Cocktails For A Cause Presents “A Service Industry Bachelor/Bachelorette Auction” to benefit Richmond Animal League was a HUGE success, we raised over $9,600 that night and have still continued to receive donations.  Which has forced us to come to a decision as far as what to do with Cocktails For A Cause.  With such momentum at this point we’ve decided it would be crazy not to push forth and file as a Non-Profit and make this a full time gig.  Which means LOTS more events coming in the near future.

As for my bar work, I’ve been lucky enough to work for an AMAZING restaurant called The Franklin Inn which I truly feel at home at.  Great regulars, great bosses, great coworkers.  Couldn’t ask for more.

I’ll avoid the subject of my love life because, well, it’s lacking to say the least.  And I’m quite ok with that.  The only “guy” to speak of at this point has me content with the way things are and I like that I can keep my sense of independence and fun at this stage in my life.
